I went to the Garden of Love, And saw what I never had seen; A Chapel was built in the midst, Where I used to play on the green.
And the gates of this Chapel were shut, And ‘Thou shalt not’ writ over the door; So I turned to the Garden of Love That so many sweet flowers bore.
And I saw it was filled with graves, And tombstones where flowers should be; And Priests in black gowns were walking their rounds, And binding with briars my joys & desires.
How sweet I roam'd Written by William Blake
How sweet I roam'd from field to field, And tasted all the summer's pride, 'Till I the prince of love beheld, Who in the sunny beams did glide!
He shew'd me lilies for my hair, And blushing roses for my brow; He led me through his gardens fair, Where all his golden pleasures grow.
With sweet May dews my wings were wet, And Phoebus fir'd my vocal rage; He caught me in his silken net, And shut me in his golden cage.
He loves to sit and hear me sing, Then, laughing, sports and plays with me; Then stretches out my golden wing, And mocks my loss of liberty.

I heard An Angel Singing Written by William Blake
I heard an Angel singing When the day was springing Mercy Pity Peace Is the worlds release
Thus he sung all day Over the new mown hay Till the sun went down And haycocks looked brown
I heard a Devil curse Over the heath & the furze Mercy could be no more If there was nobody poor
And pity no more could be If all were as happy as we At his curse the sun went down And the heavens gave a frown
Down pourd the heavy rain Over the new reapd grain And Miseries increase Is Mercy Pity Peace
